Look out across the bay and you’ll see the charming harbor of Skala Panagia on one end and Skala Potamias on the other. Lush green mountains rise up behind the beach, with Mount Ipsarion, the highest point on Thassos, keeping a watchful eye over the scene.

Golden Beach isn’t just about relaxation, there’s plenty to keep you entertained too. If you’re feeling adventurous, try some water sports or have some fun on the giant inflatables. There are also numerous beach bars and restaurants offering delicious food and drinks, all with that incredible sea view.

The Golden Beach beach stretches for about three kilometers from the harbor with its colorful fishing boats and the impressive Palataki building up Tripiti on the western end. On the back side of the hill is the Palataki is the famous Mines beach . There, from 100 years ago was a mine and smelting site, today is a beautiful beach “different” with hundreds of special items and artifacts to explore.

Getting Here

Location & Access

Thassos is only accessible by ferry boat and has two ports, Skala Prinos and Limenas (Thassos Town) which are serviced from Kavala and Keramoti on the mainland.

The easiest way to get to our hotel is to arrive in Limenas by ferry from the port of Keramoti which is only a 10 minute drive from Kavala airport (Megas Alexandros) and 190 km away from Thessaloniki.

From Keramoti port the ferry boat arrives at Limenas (Thassos Town), the capital of Thassos Island. The journey time is 35 minutes and there are regular sailings, normally every half an hour during the summer. Once you arrive at Limenas you can make your way towards our hotel which is within Limenas (Thassos town) and approximately 1.5 kilometers away from the port.

The ferry from Kavala runs to Skala Prinos and has a journey time of one and a quarter hours with a maximum of 5 sailings per day in the summer. When you arrive in Skala Prinos you will take the ring road and travel in a clockwise direction (following signs for Thassos town (Limenas), continue until you reach Limenas (Thassos town).

The closest airport to Thassos is Kavala Airport (Megas Alexandros Airport) which is close to Chrisoupolis just 17 km’s from the port of Keramoti. There is an all year round daily service to Athens and during the summer hosts charter flights from all over Europe.
